Each contestant was allowed 15 free-throw attempts in the contest. In the 14-year-old boys' division a three-way tie was settled by a single round of five free throws resulting in another close round, but a winner did emerge halting the need for a second tiebreaker round.
District Level:
All but one of our winners who were eligible to advance from the Council level, competed in the District competition on February 8, 2003 at the Holiday Recreation Center with an eye toward moving on to Regional and State levels.
I'm proud to report that all five of OLQP competitors won their respective age categories, advancing to the Regional level. A total sweep of all categories!
Again, the 14-year-old boys' division provided the highest level of drama with another tie. This time, a two-way tie was settled with Blake Stockton coming away victorious 5 shots to four in a five-shot tie breaking round.

Regional Level:
All five of our winners from the District level, competed in the Regional competition on February 15, 2003 at the Holiday Recreation Center with an eye toward moving on to the State level.
I'm proud to report that two of OLQP competitors won their respective age categories, advancing to the State level.
Amie Donohue was the 11-year-old girls' champion and
Nicole Lynch was the 12-year-old girls' champion. All our contestants competed valiantly in the Regional round and I know I speak for all of the brother Knights when I say how extremely proud we are of their efforts.
Statet Level:
Amie Donohue and Nicole Lynch, made it all the way to the State Free throw. They represented not only OLQP and district 23, but our entire region valiantly. We are very proud and extend our thanks and best wishes.
I'd like to thank all of our Brother Knights who have come out to help support our efforts- our Deputy Grand Knight; Bill Huber, Inside Guard; Dan Poulter, Outside Guard; Nim Goering, Brother Knights; Linas Palubinskas and Dave Szymanski, our District Warden; Joe Tripani, and District Deputy, Tony Nalli. Without their help, these events would not have been possible.
Thank you to all our participants for coming out and supporting our Free Throw Championship. Congratulations to all the Free Throw Championships this year.
